German Chancellor to visit China

BEIJING - German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay an official visit to China from August 30 to 31 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the announcement here Thursday.
During her stay, Wen and Merkel will co-chair the second round of Chinese-German intergovernmental consultations.
