STOCKHOLM - The most international and diversified Chinese bank, Bank of China (BOC), opened its branch in Stockholm recently, marking the first Chinese banking facility in Nordic region.
As this year commemorates the 100th anniversary of BOC's establishment in 1912, the Stockholm branch aims to provide superior international financial service based on its advantage of global integrative nature, said Guo Xin, head of the Stockholm branch.
With the trade volume between China and Sweden growing rapidly over the recent years, BOC will make great efforts to set up a more convenient financial platform for bilateral trades and communications, said Guo, adding that BOC is planning to expand business to other Nordic countries in short term.
The Stockholm branch, a subordinate to BOC Luxembourg company, has so far launched saving and loan service, remittance, foreign exchange trading, trade financing and letter of guarantee service, aiming at both corporations and personal customers.
BOC is the first Chinese commercial bank which was listed both in Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchange, providing financial service in 32 countries and regions across the world.
