THE HAGUE - The smoke detected in the cabin of an airplane with 116 passengers on board was under control, a spokesperson of Schiphol airport near Amsterdam told Xinhua on Thursday.

The spokesman said the smoke was probably due to an electrical breakdown in an electronic device.

No report of casualties is immediately available.
