MOSCOW - Russia is "deeply concerned" over violent clashes on Israel's northern frontiers and calls for all relevant parties to demonstrate maximum restraint from violence, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Monday.
The ministry also called for concerted efforts to make possible early resumption of the Middle East peace process.
"Progress on this direction and efforts to a comprehensive, fair and solid peace between Arabs and Israel on the recognized international and judicial base is the most important factor for the regional situation improvement," the ministry stressed.
On Sunday, Israeli gunfire killed over a dozen Palestinian and pro-Palestinian protesters in a surge of border demonstrations on the 63rd anniversary of establishment of Israel.
