"The incidents confirm that current unrest in the Middle East and the Northern Africa should not overshadow the early solution of the chronic regional problems, as Arab-Israel settlement in the first hand, including the key Palestinian issue," the ministry said.

The ministry also called for concerted efforts to make possible early resumption of the Middle East peace process.

"Progress on this direction and efforts to a comprehensive, fair and solid peace between Arabs and Israel on the recognized international and judicial base is the most important factor for the regional situation improvement," the ministry stressed.

On Sunday, Israeli gunfire killed over a dozen Palestinian and pro-Palestinian protesters in a surge of border demonstrations on the 63rd anniversary of establishment of Israel.
