EU's Ashton in Tunisia for visit

TUNIS - European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton arrived in the Tunisian capital on Monday.

During the visit, Ashton will meet with members of Tunisia's interim government, heads of political parties and civil society activists, according to the state-run TAP news agency.

On Feb 7, European parliament members promised long-term support for Tunisia and suggested the holding of a donors' conference to help the country achieve democratic transition.
