"If you look at successful foreign companies in the Chinese market, few have a short history. Bosch, Siemens they have all been here for more than 100 years. What do we expect from Chinese companies launched maybe 15 years ago and started going abroad five years ago?"
Hellmut Schutte, dean and vice-president of China Europe International Business School, saying that going international is a painful experience that many Chinese companies have often underestimated. Schutte feels that Chinese companies are better off in their home markets, especially if they learn foreign competitors' best practices.
"The status quo is well and truly held. Indeed, since 2010, the market share of state-owned enterprises has grown in numerous sectors."
Gordon Orr, McKinsey Asia director and chairman, saying the situation is quite different from his 2011 call that China's government would "meaningfully reduce its stake in state-owned enterprises", particularly in the industrial companies overseen by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
"It (Shanghai Disney Resort) is going to be the best of Disney but designed specifically for the people of China."
Bob Iger, chairman and CEO, The Walt Disney company, saying the Shanghai resort would be Disney's most technologically advanced park when it opens in 2015.
