There are two indoor swimming pools inside the building, one for children between zero and two years and one for two years and above.
"Traditional filtration systems are unable to keep water above 30 degrees centigrade free of bacteria, so our pools are cleaned through the ozone water treatment (a chlorine-free) process. These settings strictly comply with the United Kingdom Swimming Teachers' Association standards," says Zhang. From the ceramic tiles of the swimming pool to the swimming neck ring, all the products are imported from Europe.
Family Box believes in providing the right environment for parents and children to grow together. The company feels that parents have the most important role in a child's education. So it encourages parents to participate in programs like music, arts and crafts, cookery, dance and performing arts.
"The membership fees at Family Box are, however, very expensive," says Wang Lin, a member mother at the center. Each member has to pay around 6,700 yuan (754 euros) for a seasonal membership, 11,000 yuan for six months, and 18,000 yuan for annual membership. For swimming program, the members have to pay additional fees.
"We have got a lot of feedback from our members on the high charges. We expect to bring down the rates soon so that more parents can enjoy the Family Box facilities. After all, education deserves a fair opportunity and should not be limited by economic status," says Zhang.
