Chinese singer Wu Yifan entered S.M. Entertainment through S.M. Global Audition Canada in 2007 and debuted as part of the boy pop band EXO in early 2012. Wu was also the leader of EXO-M, a sub-group that targeted Asian-speaking countries. In May of this year, Wu filed a request to certify the invalidity of "exclusive contract" with S.M. Entertainment. He returned to China and took part as the protagonist in Xu Jinglei's upcoming film, Somewhere Only We Know.
