Japanese actress and singer Noriko Sakai has made a name for herself in China with her sweet singing voice and the characters she portrayed in hit television shows Roommates and Die Sterntaler.
On August 3, 2009, Sakai's husband Yuuichi Koso was arrested for possession of drugs and Sakai's use of drugs were also revealed to the public. During the court sessions that followed, Sakai admitted that she has been using drugs under the recommendations of her husband for four years.
