Miuccia Prada made 20 dresses for each party in the film, including Daisy's crystal dress above. All items were selected from Prada's past collections and slightly redisgned to make them seem more from the 20s.
The idea of collaborating between Prada and director Baz Luhrmann results from their friendship over the past 15 years. It dates back to 1996, when Prada designed a suit for Leonardo in Romeo + Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann.
She turned to the chandelier dress in her old collections and reprised this look for Daisy in one of the scenes where she goes to one of Gatsby's extraordinary parties.
