Three holiday films will compete for box-office revenue this Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 10.
Stephen Chow’s blockbuster Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons, to be released on Feb 10, will compete with two middle-budget comedies.
Better and Better, which features about 20 popular actors on the mainland and Hong Kong, including Aaron Kwok and Xu Jinglei, will premiere on the same day.
Say Yes, a romantic comedy starring Taiwan supermodel and actress Lin Chi-ling and popular mainland comedian Huang Bo will follow two days later.
In the film, Lin plays a pretty musician chased by an old bachelor played by Huang. She will also dance with Gangnam Style singer Psy on the Spring Festival Gala on Dragon TV on Feb 9.
