The more music Li Quan writes, the fewer fans he keeps.
It's not a question of quality. Rather, he believes, his music caters to a minority taste. "I guess my musical experiments sometimes go wild and beyond listeners' reach," says Li, who rose to fame 10 years ago. He will perform the songs he wrote for other pop stars over the past few years at his upcoming concert. The poetic musician plays many instruments and fuses genres, such as jazz and pop.
