China's oldest outdoor music festival, Midi, will launch its first event in Guiyang city, the capital of Guizhou province. Chinese godfather of rock 'n' roll Cui Jian, folk rock band Second Hand Roses and ethnic group band Mountain People, will share the stage with bands from Guizhou province, including Someone, Liu Chuan and Nonsense. The festival will also feature international acts including American indie rock band Stillwater, Other Lives, and Frida Andersson, a 23-year-old singer-and-songwriter from Finland. Independent music organization, Buddha's Feet, will bring their electronic musicians and DJs to the festival.
