Nicole Richie says she now feels great about her body.
The daughter of singer Lionel Richie - who found fame starring on 'The Simple Life' alongside Paris Hilton - opened up about revealing her dramatic weight loss in 2006.
She confessed that although she can be critical of her fuller figure, she tries to ignore her own negative views and is proud of the positive steps she's taken.
She told American Glamour magazine: "I feel great about my body. You know, aesthetically I can be picky, but I choose not to. I've taken huge leaps. I'm proud of that."
Nicole is mother to Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden's two children four-year-old Harlow and two-year-old Sparrow.
The 30-year-old - who appears as a 'Fashion Star' mentor alongside Jessica Simpson, designer John Varvatos and host Elle MacPherson - revealed more about her new healthy outlook on life.
She added: "I work out and I get lots of sleep, so I feel great. And that is most important."
Regarding her style icon status she laughed: "My world is small. I have my circle of 10 friends, my kids, my family. None of them call me a trendsetter."
