Mena Suvari doesn't feel under pressure to stay thin.
The 'American Pie' beauty - who is married to concert promoter Simone Sestito - admits it is hard as an actress to not fret about how she looks but she has great parents who make her think about her health over her image.
She said: "There definitely is pressure to stay slim and I've seen it around but I grew up with a family who was always into fresh food and cooking and taking care of yourself.
"My mom was a nurse and my father was a doctor and our family really centred on the concept that you are what you eat, so for me my interest in fitness and health is something that I have regardless of being in the industry."
As well as eating healthy, balanced meals, the 32-year-old 'American Beauty' star stays in shape by exercising, going on bike rides and jogging.
In an interview with Britain's OK! magazine, she said: "I go hiking and I'm into biking and working out at the gym, but here I got into running, which was something I never thought I'd be able to do."
