Vanessa Minnillo: Jessica Simpson is the 'elephant in the room'

Vanessa Minnillo has called Jessica Simpson the "elephant in the room".

The TV host-and-model - who tied the knot with Jessica's ex husband, former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey in front of just 35 friends and family in an intimate Caribbean ceremony on Necker Island earlier this month - admitted there is huge attention on their relationship because of Nick's previous spouse but says she hopes the paparazzi will leave them to enjoy married life in peace.

Speaking on TLC reality special 'Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding', she said: "It's funny to me that [the paparazzi] care, because I'd like to think that Nick and I are somewhat boring. But they care."

Referring to Jessica - who is engaged to Eric Johnson - as "the elephant in the room" - Vanessa added: "I think that she would probably pray as much as I do that they allow us to have our own moments."

The couple recently returned from a 10-day honeymoon to the French Caribbean island of St. Barts, but Vanessa insisted she did not mind where they spent their post-wedding holiday as long as she was with her husband.

She added: "Regardless of where we go I know we'll be going there as Mr. and Mrs. Lachey and I'm really excited about that."
