Lily Allen planned pregnancy

Lily Allen planned to be pregnant at her wedding.

The singer revealed she was four months pregnant during her nuptials with Sam Cooper earlier this month, and despite speculation her gown had to be altered for her fuller figure, designer Delphine Manivet insists Lily had planned for a baby bump when she chose the dress in January.

Delphine told the UK edition of Grazia magazine: "We knew from the beginning - way back in January - that Lily wanted to get pregnant, so I designed the dress she wore underneath in silk tulle to be comfortable over a little bump.

"We were very excited when she told us the news. It was beautiful."

Despite Lily's previous comments about intending to wear Chanel at the wedding, Delphine insists the star had chosen her gown months before the ceremony but wanted to keep people guessing.

She added: "Like every bride, she wanted the dress to be a surprise."

"Lily wanted something traditional and not too exposed."

"She wanted a vintage look, but a new dress with a veil and a train. I came back to her with a modified design including the 3ft train and she said it was perfect."

"She really trusted me and was completely calm and confident in her choices."

Lily had three dress fittings in the run-up to her big day, and became so close to the design team, they were even invited to the ceremony.

Delphine said: "She did not act like a star. She was really lovely and even brought in biscuits for the girls. She came here once after the Chanel show and I think it was special for her to be somewhere calm and intimate."
