Disney on track with sci-fi film 'The Runner'

LOS ANGELES  – Disney has picked up "The Runner," a sci-fi adventure project from the developer of NBC's recent "Knight Rider" reboot. Marc Forster ("Quantum of Solace") is attached to direct.

The story centers on a lone man who is sent back in time to change the course of history but who also has a personal motive of saving the love of his life.

The project was originally written on spec as a TV pilot by Dave Andron, who is now a writer/supervising producer on FX's "Justified." He reconfigured it for the big screen.

Forster is prepping his next picture, Paramount's zombie movie "World War Z."
