The 1st China-Malaysia Female Painters and Calligraphers Exhibition took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Aug 16.

More than 10 artists from across both countries displayed more than 100 art pieces, including Chinese ink and wash paintings, calligraphies, oil paintings, watercolors and sketches.

"Throughout history, female artists has been creating authentic and superb works in different countries," Kong Zi, chairman of China Female Artists Association, said.

"This exhibition is a platform for female artists of China and Malaysia to inspire each other and deepen their friendships."

Kong also extended an invitation to Malaysian artists, encouraging them to join in the "One Belt One Road" International Fine Arts Project, launched in 2013. The project will also be part of a three-year world tour exhibition from 2018.

The exhibit was hosted by Malaysia Artists Society at the Longhua Art Museum of Malaysia.
