Feng Jianguo is a professor at the academy of fine arts in Tsinghua University, where he teaches traditional photography techniques. Born in Qionghai of Hainan province in 1962, he went to study in Japan for 11 years at his own expense.

He insists on the large format photography, and keeps exploring how to spread advanced photography techniques and creation concept to students.

Feng Jianguo said that large format photography is a kind of method which uses a bulky machine, and is full of ceremonial sense. "The high-quality and distinct traditional screenage is charming. This is my understanding of photography and my pursuit in photography," Feng Jianguo said.
