To usher in the Year of the Monkey in 2016, Hong Kong Post issued a special set of four stamps. It’s the fifth set in the fourth Lunar New Year special stamp issue series to highlight the theme of New Year celebration, this time with monkey motifs, Jan 16, 2016.
The four stamps depict a monkey’s playful character and the vibrancy of the New Year through different art forms, including colored glass, embroidery, silverware and a Beijing opera mask paper-cut. One of the two stamp sheets is printed on silk, capturing the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year.
