The National Museum of China has presented its first exhibition of art by primary school students to celebrate Children's Day. The exhibition — China Dream, Teenager Dream — features paintings and calligraphy works by students and teachers at the Elementary School Affiliated to Renmin University of China.
Materials used in some of the works include used and recycled items such as jeans, old magazines and yogurt containers.
Students brought new life to this waste by recreating Van Gogh's Starry Night and Georges Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. The works are intended to embrace the themes of love, dreams and inclusiveness.
A delegation of teachers and students will tour with some works in Russia and the United States during the summer vacation.
