A full-time painter at Beijing Fine Art Academy, Shao Fei, embraces a super-realistic style in her oil paintings.
Her Return to the Homeland in a Dream series, on display at the National Art Museum of China until Oct 26, was inspired by a historic private garden in the suburb of Xiuning, Anhui province, that was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
Her delicate brush strokes and vibrant colors have connected the past and present, reality and fantasy. Also on exhibit are her dozens of color ink paintings.
