Concert of classics
The EOS Orchestra will present a collection of classics by Tchaikovsky, Antonin Dvorak and Gabriel Faure at the Beijing Concert Hall. Founded in 2006 as the Central Conservatory of Music's graduate division, the EOS Orchestra consists of hopeful postgraduate students and young teachers. It thus combines the functions of research and performance. As director of EOS, renowned conductor Hu Yongyan will conduct the upcoming concert, which also features Zhang Yingying (pictured), one of China's most anticipated young cellists. With a master's degree in music from the University of Southern California, Zhang has manifested her talent at a very young age by sweeping up numerous national awards since 1988.
7:30 pm, June 7. Beijing Concert Hall, 1 Beixinhua Street, Xicheng district, Beijing. 010-6605-7006.
