Chengdu's history has been chronicled

The General History of Chengdu has been published by the Sichuan People's Publishing House after nearly 5 years of compilation by experts from the Chengdu Academy of Social Sciences.

It consists of seven volumes, containing nearly 3.4 million Chinese characters, and records Chengdu's economics, politics and culture throughout different periods.
It's the first chronicle of the city's general history since its founding 2,300 years ago, Chengdu Academy of Social Sciences research fellow Lin Chengxi says.
