China Millennium Monument in Beijing has inaugurated the Peru Cultural and Art Festival, offering a glimpse of the natural beauty and profound civilization of the South American country, which remains mysterious to many Chinese people.
Photographer Gong Bencai who also heads a Chinese company in Peru, presents 60 photos that give a vivid portrayal of the country's landscape, cultural relics and life. Meanwhile Peruvian artist Ernesto Pujazon brings dozens of pencil sketches, which were inspired by totem patterns of the Inca Empire and conveys his thoughts about the relationship between human and space.
The exhibitions last until Sept 13 and will move to the contemporary art gallery of Guangzhou Opera House in Guangdong province from Sept 24 to Oct 9.
