Filmmakers in focus

The Ullens Center For Contemporary Art (UCCA ) will launch its Filmmaker in Focus series to present established contemporary Chinese filmmakers' works with full retrospectives that include live discussions with the filmmakers.
This weekend will spotlight filmmaker and novelist Guo Xiaolu, from Zhejiang province. Ten of her best-known films will be screened. They include She, A Chinese, which won the Golden Leopard award at the 2009 Locarno film festival, and her documentary Once Upon A Time Proletarian,which was shown at a competition in Venice and a Toronto film festival.
