The launch ceremony for the book The Flag, which tells behind-the-scenes stories of the eponymous documentary about the 90-year history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was held in Beijing International Exhibition Center on Monday.
Produced by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and CCTV, the 10-episode documentary, which took the production crew four months to complete, was filmed to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and scored high ratings in July 2011.
The book features rare photos that illustrate the filming process, exclusive interviews with the producers and directors, and commentary from historians and documentary experts.
