China Radio and TV Association, Communication University of China, Minzu University of China, and Nankai University released on June 25 the 2011 Report on China TV Content's Influence on the Internet.

The four institutions started research in 2007. It examines how frequently the studied content is watched, discussed, and searched online, and how positive the Web users' feedback is. It used to focus on content related to TV, but now has extended to the film scene.

The 2011 report finds that in 2010, the most influential director was Jiang Wen, whose Let the Bullets Fly grossed nearly 700 million yuan ($107 million). Xie Na, a variety show hostess of Hunan TV, was the most influential TV presenter.
