'Cultural bridge' tours to Hungary

An part of the central government's efforts includes dispatching cultural ambassadors to foreign lands. That's why another Chinese stage extravaganza tailor made for overseas audiences is on the road. On Friday night, the show "Culture Bridge" was staged in Budapest, capital of Hungary.
Friday's show comprised of two parts. In the first act, performers from the Yunnan Song and Dance Troupe presented ethnic forming arts. The Chinese artists also reinterpreted a commonly known symphony in Hungary using Chinese traditional instruments.
In return, in the second act, Hungarian pianist and composer Avasi rendered the Chinese classic "The Butterfly Lovers."
Later, the night ended with Avasi's new creation "Symphony of Culture Bridge."
Hungary is the current president of the EU Council. So the activity was also intended to set up a communication bridge between China and Europe.
