Shi Chunyan, a female BASE jumper, successfully jumped from a hot air balloon at a height of 210 meters on September 27, 2017.
Though Shi is well-experienced in BASE jumping and is praised as China's first female BASE jumper, she said she felt nervous before attempting the jump in Shiniu village, Pingjiang city, Central China's Hunan province.
The Danxia landform there made the challenge even tougher. Many audience members voiced encouragement and watched the hot air balloon rise into the sky.
When the balloon reached the planned height, she jumped off and opened the parachute after three-second freefall.
The whole heart-stopping challenge lasted for 50 seconds and Shi made a safe landing. Visitors at the site applauded and cheered as she touched the ground.
