Talent recruitment holds back China's medical industry development
Nearly 70 percent of foreign-funded medical equipment enterprise talents are willing to consider work opportunities from Chinese counterparts, said a recent report.
Spring Professional, an international firm specializing in recruitment of middle to senior level management and specialists, released a report on factors effecting private firms' recruitment.
China's medical industry has seen fast development since 2015, when the central government released documents to support the development of local health and medical companies.
However, talent has long been the bottleneck of continuous development, according to the report, adding that many high-level management talents and R&D personnel still have doubts with private medical firms in China.
After the survey, the report found that talents who work at medical equipment firms were more willing to consider working for Chinese private firms (69.37 percent), while those who work for biological pharmacies were not as positive (41.67 percent).
"R&D personnel need to consider investment and research cycle. Many candidates shared their concerns on Chinese private firms’ R&D capability and production line during the research and development period," said the report. "Chinese private firms are more market-orientated."
The report also found that among those who are willing to consider working for Chinese private firms, more than 90 percent said their top priority is career development.
