A young, twenty-something village official from Anhui province recently went viral online after she snapped a series of retro self-portraits to publicize her hometown, local media reported on Sept 27. All the photos feature her hometown, Jiulonggang, as an eye-catching background.
The girl, Wang Xue, is deputy town chief of Jiulonggang in the city of Huainai, a place known for tourism and historical relics. The city is now launching a campaign to promote tourism in Jiulonggang.
Wang hopes that her photos, which prominently display the picturesque town, will serve as a useful publicity tool. Wang also emphasized that her photography project had received support from the town leaders.
