Some foreigners or Chinese living overseas who are interested in traditional Chinese medicine will be selected as TCM messengers to help promote it overseas, according to organizers of a China-EU health cooperation forum scheduled to be held between Sept 29 and Oct 1.

The “Silk Road TCM Messenger” plan is aimed at promoting TCM culture and therapies overseas to benefit people overseas, and training will be provided to these messengers. Details of the plan will be released during the Silk Road Health Industry Cooperation Forum to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, according to organizers of the event, which include League of Cities of the Silk Road and Xinhua News Agency.

Nearly 200 participators from China, Germany, France, Britain, Italy and other countries will participate in the forum and discuss international cooperation in health industry, according to a statement released at a news conference by the organizers on Thursday.

European countries boast world-class medical care and senior care research and technologies, which China can borrow, and China can also share with the world its traditional medicine and the fruits of its fast developing medical care industry, Zhang Wenkang, former health minister of China, said at the conference.
