Central govt allocates funds for disaster relief

BEIJING - China's central government on Friday assigned 595 million yuan ($90 million) to cover disaster relief work in the areas hit by storms and flooding.
Heavy rain, hailstorms and flooding have been reported across Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou and Xinjiang recently, wreaking havoc and causing loss of life.
The funds will cover relocation and resettlement, living support, housing reconstruction and compensation, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance.
Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou and Xinjiang will receive 40 million, 47 million, 107 million, 66 million, 90 million, 117 million and 128 million yuan, respectively.
