BEIJING -- State Councilor Guo Shengkun has ordered police to enforce law in a more standardized, just and civilized way.
Guo, who is also public security minister, made the remarks during an inspection in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Sunday.
Advancing the standardization of law enforcement should be made a priority, Guo said.
He asked relevant authorities to improve existing law enforcement standards and release more detailed rules.
While stressing the political building of the police force, Guo said more training should be offered to build a competent police force with a strong sense of responsibility, discipline and work style.
