Death toll rises to five in N China highway pileup

HOHHOT - The death toll from a road accident involving 16 vehicles in north China's Inner Mongolia has risen to five, rescuers said Monday.
Eleven people remain under observation in hospital.
The accident happened at 6:50 p.m. Sunday at a toll station between Wuchuan County and Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia, after a crane lost control and careered into other vehicles.
Rescuers pronounced two people dead at the scene, and later pulled out two more bodies. Another person died on the way to hospital.
The investigation continues.
