BEIJING - The United Nations has launched a second drive to recruit personnel in China under its Young Professionals Programme (YPP).

Jobs in economic affairs as well as information and communication technology will be open to Chinese candidates under the age of 32, who are fluent in either English or French, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said in a statement. A bachelor's degree is also needed.

Candidates need to apply online before July 19, and written exams are scheduled to be held in Beijing on Dec. 14, said the ministry, which will facilitate the exam.

The YPP was set up in 2011 based on rounds of national recruitment exams held in China multiple times since 1995.

A total of 139 candidates sat the first YPP exam for Chinese citizens in Beijing on Dec. 3, 2013.
