About 30 workers have been buried alive in a landslide in east China early Sunday, CCTV News reported on Sina Weibo, a twitter-like social networking site in China.
A construction site was hit by a landslide shortly after 5 am Sunday in Taining county, Sanming city, east China's Fujian province. The raging earth and stones buried the dormitories on the site and about 30 workers were believed to be buried.
Local firefighters and police have arrived at the scene. Several excavators will also be used in the rescue.
Rescuers attributed the landslide to the continuous heavy rain in recent days.
