A three-year-old boy has been recovering from a fall onto his face from the 15th story of a building in east China's Jiangsu Province.
The boy fell from his home balcony, which was under renovation, from the 15th story of a residential building in Changzhou City on April 11. When the accident took place, workers were changing the balcony's windows, and his mother was in the kitchen.
The boy was immediately taken away by a community safe guard after he landed at the ground, who saw him fall. The guard rushed to rescue him after hearing him crying out loudly. The boy left a deep mark on the lawn.
When the boy was sent to hospital, his face was badly swollen. He suffered several severe bone fractures.
The boy's mother saw him fall from the balcony while she was in the kitchen. He hit a clothes hanger pole halfway down. The soil was soft as it had rained the day before.
"He was so lucky. The pavement was only 15 centimeters away from where he fell down," said his mother.
