HEFEI -- A bus crash that killed six people in East China's Anhui province on Friday was allegedly caused by a passenger who grabbed the steering wheel, local police said on Saturday.
On Friday morning, a coach carrying 40 people plunged into a roadside ditch in Suzhou city, killing six passengers and injuring more than 30.
Survivors told police that just before the accident, a male passenger, Wen, attempted to embrace a female passenger and was struck by her husband. Some minutes later, Wen rushed the driver, grabbed the steering wheel and caused the coach to crash. The female passenger was killed.
The suspect has been detained by police. Further investigation is ongoing.
