7 killed in SW China pileup

CHENGDU - Seven people were killed and six others injured in a pileup on an expressway in Southwest China's Sichuan province early on Wednesday morning.
Seven vehicles collided in rain at around 2 a.m. on the Chengdu-Guangyuan section of the expressway linking Beijing to Kunming in Southwest China's Yunnan province, according to local traffic police.
One person was seriously injured and five sustained minor injuries. They are being treated in a hospital in the city of Guangyuan.
Traffic on the expressway section has resumed.
The incident is being investigated.
