The combination of mobility and cloud computing will bring about potential for the development of Internet at the golden era of innovation, said Jerry Yang, Founder of Yahoo, during a forum on Thursday.
"Many great companies have developed in the past five years due to mobility and cloud computing," said Jerry, also Independent Non-executive Director of Lenovo, at a sub-forum of the ongoing World Internet Conference that runs through Friday.
First and the most innovation trend includes the combination of supervision, cloud computing and data will change the science, medical treatment, education and so on, he added.
He also mentioned the area of robotics as another direction that new start-ups can turn to. He believed that with the artificial intelligence, robots are likely to improve the service quality not only at hospitals, but also in hotels and each service industry.
More new start-ups, no matter in the US or in China, should be encouraged to make dialogues and more contact in early time and contact Chinese and US markets, Jerry said.
"Given my experience in the US and my experience in China, the best dialogues between China and US are always almost entrepreneur to entrepreneur," said Jerry.
"When two entrepreneurs get together, languages barriers go away, and nationality barriers also go away... We should encourage more startups, whether they are US companies or Chinese companies, to talk to each other, have more dialogues and maybe have more access to each other", he added.
This session aims to promote international exchanges and cooperation in Internet technology, industry and applications. Participants have dialogues on innovation models, policies, financing environment of SMEs, innovation opportunities of mobile O2O, and the growth of new start-ups.
The Second World Internet Conference, the most high-profile Internet related event in China, is taking place in the picturesque water town of Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, Dec 16 to 18.
The conference, with a goal of “building a cyberspace community of shared destiny”, has gathered together more than 2,000 participants, including state leaders, government officials, business leaders, Internet titans, and experts from more than 120 countries and regions.
