BEIJING - A new draft law aiming to boost film-making in China, now the world's second biggest movie market, was put before China's top legislature on Friday.
Under the draft law, film-makers are entitled to a slew of incentives in financing, taxation, promotion and land use.
Though it is only the first reading for the draft law, many industry insiders and experts have placed high hopes on the law to bridge the gap, in terms of technology, capital support, talent and contents, between home-grown movies and foreign ones.
