Elevators installed on old buildings
Climbing a 12-storey building is not easy, especially for elderly inhabitants who have to climb the stairs every day.
Thankfully, technology is able to provide a solution. Three elevators have been installed in a 12-storey building in Dazhou city, Southwest China's Sichuan province.
48 households have been living in the block, which was built in 2000. A few earlier attempts to install elevators were aborted for unknown reasons.
Last year, an agreement was finally reached by the 40 households to collect 120,000 yuan ($19,320) for the elevator project.
The elevators will be put into use soon, according to cfp.cn.
