SHIJIAZHUANG -- Legislatures in Beijing and Tianjin municipalities and Hebei Province have agreed to share opinions with each other when making laws in an attempt to stamp out local protectionism and hasten the full coordination regional development.
The three legislatures recently agreed to improve coordination of the legislative process in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, according to the Standing Committee of Hebei Provincial People's Congress on Tuesday.
The deal means the three will share information when making new laws, cooperate with each other on legislative theory, and exchange work experience.
Transportation, environmental protection and industrial restructuring will be priority areas where coordination in the law making process will be needed, said Feng Zhiguang of the Hebei provincial legislature.
Zhou Ying, another lawmaker of Hebei, said the improvements will help ensure consistency of local legislation throughout the region.
A guideline on coordinated development for Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei was approved by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in April.
