China appoints new police chief of HK

BEIJING - China's State Council on Monday appointed Lo Wai Chung as police chief of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
The decision was made in accordance with the Basic Law of HKSAR and the nomination by Leung Chun Ying, HKSAR's chief executive, the State Council said in a statement.
Tsang Wai Hung was removed from the post of HKSAR police chief, the statement said.
