Hand-made submarine to carry venturers

Designer and engineer Zhang Junlin, 62, led a team that developed the submarine in two years. It is 15 meters long, 2.1 meters wide and 3 meters high. It weighs 25 tons and has a capacity to carry 20 passengers. The submarine can run 15 nautical miles per hour and dive to a depth of up to 50 meters at a range of 50 nautical miles and remain underwater for 24 hours. It will be put into trial operation soon.
