Beijing authorities and the State Council have approved a six-day holiday next month for workers in government departments and institutions in the city during the forthcoming APEC meetings.
The decision is part of a plan to ease traffic on the roads as the Chinese capital hosts the APEC Economic Leaders' meeting.
Vehicles will also be required to run on alternating days based on add or even license plate numbers, like it was during the Olympics in 2008.
The municipal government plans to increase the number of buses on the road by an extra 400.
The APEC Economic Leaders' meeting will be held in Beijing from 10th to 11th next month.
