Xiamen authorities discovered that 4.9 metric tons of food used tainted lard from Taiwan.
An official with the city's Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said on Thursday that the port did not import tainted lard from Taiwan oil suppler Chang Guann Co, but found 3.2 tons of pork products and 1.7 tons of snacks, including butter biscuits, that allegedly contained the company's tainted lard.
